MONRUPINO - KARST HOUSE

Monrupino is home to the Karst House, a perfect example of local stone architecture. This house-museum preserves period furnishings and traditional costumes, telling the story of past peasant life and the evocative tradition of the “Karst Wedding”.

SAN GIOVANNI IN TUBA CHURCH

The small San Giovanni in Tuba church is a 14th-15th century Gothic building erected on the remains of a pagan temple and an early Christian basilica with mosaics. Reconstructed in the 1940s, it stands at the springs of the Timavo river, with precious archaeological findings visible beneath the presbytery.

LIBURNIA TOWER - AURISINA

The Liburnia Tower (1857) is a panoramic tower overlooking the sea in Nabresina (Aurisina), built during the construction of the Austrian Southern Railway. Originally designed as a water reservoir to supply steam locomotives at the nearby station, it today houses a lookout point historically tied to railway transport.

The Castle of Duino

Duino Castle, located near Trieste, is known for its rich history linked to the princely family of Thurn und Taxis (Torre e Tasso). Famous for hosting illustrious figures, such as the poet Rainer Maria Rilke who drew inspiration here for his Duino Elegies, the castle offers visitors splendid terraced gardens and a breathtaking panoramic view of the Gulf of Trieste.
