With a depth of 101 meters and sitting 113 meters above sea level, this Cave is a magical Karst wonder, filled with countless stalactites and stalagmites that guide you along the path. A journey back in time among ancient stone towers. The cave owes its name precisely to the towers gracing the main hall and to the nearby Karst village of Slivia.

Over one hundred meters deep, the Torri di Slivia cave is one of the oldest and most fascinating caverns in the Trieste Karst.

A place where time has sculpted the rock, creating breathtaking scenery and a unique, captivating atmosphere. For years, we have been welcoming visitors and enthusiasts, offering engaging guided tours that let you experience a true journey into the heart of the earth. Our passionate guides accompany every group, revealing the secrets of the geological formations, the history of the region, and the life that inhabits this underground world.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

The visit lasts approximately 75 minutes, runs at scheduled times, and includes a guide.
Pick up your ticket at the Agriturismo.
Hop on our agribus to reach the cave entrance. For your safety, please do not lean out during the ride.
The trail involves walking down and climbing back up 200 steps.
The temperature inside stays around 6–9°C year-round. Even in the summer, make sure to bring a jacket.
Rubber-soled shoes are mandatory.
No dogs or other pets are allowed inside the cave.
Please note that the trail is not wheelchair accessible.
You can take photos, but please do not use the flash.
You cannot take photos while walking or navigating the steps.
Please protect the cave: do not remove any rocks, fragments, or natural elements.
Visitors must remain with their group close to the guide and stay exclusively on the marked tourist path.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can easily book your spot for the cave tour in the tickets section. You can pay online or on-site, both in cash and by card.

Booking is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended. To ensure maximum safety inside the cave, each tour can accommodate a maximum of 20 people. Visitors arriving without a booking will only be able to join the tour subject to availability.

Visits inside the cave take place exclusively with a guide at the following scheduled times:

Public Holidays (from April to October 19th): departures at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Weekdays (July and August): departure at 11:00 AM

Out-of-hours visits or group tours: Guided tours outside standard hours can be arranged by reservation only and for groups of at least 8 adults. See more here. 

Arrival time: We recommend arriving at the ticket office at least 20 minutes before the tour departure time to pay for or collect your tickets.
Recommended clothing: Inside the cave, the temperature is constant and cool. We advise wearing sneakers or hiking shoes and bringing a jacket or sweater. Read more here. 

Our guides accompany visitors in Italian and English. Furthermore, to ensure a complete experience for all guests, information panels in Italian, English, German, and Slovenian are installed along the route inside the cave.

Unfortunately no, there are no options to purchase food or drinks at the facility. We kindly invite you to plan ahead and bring anything you might need (e.g., water bottles). A restroom (toilet) is available for all our guests before or after the tour.
